"Wed 3 Weeks, Orleans Man Dies of Burns
-----
Albert Lobstein Victim in Carollton Fire

Despite heroic efforts of a negro employe to save his life Albert Lobstein, proprietor of a dying and cleaning plant at 800 Carrollton avenue, was burned so severely at his plant Friday afternoon that death resulted four hours later.

Lobstein had been married but three weeks. His bride was Miss Ray Gilston, of Patterson, Miss.

It is not known how the fire in the Lobstein place was started. Oliver Baptiste, a negro employe, was working in front of the cleaning plant when he heard Mr. Lobstein's outcry. He rushed to the rear of the place to find his employer a mass of flames. Baptiste threw his arms about the man and succeeded in smothering the flames. He then carried Lobstein to a grocery store a block away and medical aid was summoned. Lobstein suffered intensely and begged to be shot. He also asked that $275 in currency, carried in his pocket, be kept safely. It was found intact.

Damage to the Cleaning plant by the flames is estimated at $2,000"
