Son of Devereux Hightower and Susanna Hutcheson. Married Mary Thomas Anderson, daughter of Banister & Elizabeth Anderson

* When I located this cemetery in 2007 all the
tombstones in the HIGHTOWER Plot was badly
broken. I hired stonemason Cindy Dean to help
me clean and put the tombstones back together,
and after three weeks we completed our work.

Listed on The Virginia Landmarks Register And on The National Register of Historical Places.

"Windy Hill" Built by Joshua Hightower.
and considered to be in the BROOKLYN
Community of Halifax county, Virginia.
House was destroyed in the 1970's

Joshua has two grandchildren buried
in a cemetery behind where this house

Headstone was severly damaged. Ginger hired stone mason, Cindy Dean, to help her repair and clean stone.
Joshua & wife, Mary Thomas Anderson, and four of their five children are buried in this cemetery.
Cemetery located in the Laurel Grove Community of Pittsylvania Co., VA
