Aaron Bowen Jr.

ABERDEEN Aaron Bowen Jr., 64, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at his residence. A lifelong resident of Aberdeen, he was born July 27, 1935, to the late Aaron and Elma Lou Hossamer Bowen. He was an employee of Walker Manufacturing Company in Aberdeen for 33 years before retirement. He was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and attended Itawamba Junior College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He enjoyed Woodworking, fishing and camping.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with the Rev. Jack Inmon and the Rev. Mark Cayson officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Tate Bowen of Aberdeen; two daughters, Terri Yielding and her husband, Mike, of Aberdeen, Debra Petri and her husband, Carl, of Jacksonville, Texas; one son, James Bowen and his wife, Theresa of the U.S. Air Force, Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Maxine Gibson of Dickens, Texas; four grandchildren, James and Kelly Yielding, Monica Martinez and Jamie Bowen.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Finch.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rea, Bobby Berry, Therrell Davis, George Bowen, David Berryhill and Dustin Burnette.

Honorary pallbearers will be his early morning coffee buddies.

Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
