Lexington, Oct. 30 - Mrs. Seely Shealy, wife of the late Anderson Shealy, and one of the oldest residents of the Pond Branch section of Lexington county, died at the home of her son, Noah Shealy, at 10 o'clock Wednesday night, after an illness of two weeks, aged 81 years. The deceased was widely known and much loved for her many traits of Christian character, and her death has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire community. Mrs. Shealy is survived by nine children, six sons and three daughters, all grown. They are: James, George, Shelton, Emanuel, Andrew and Noah Shealy; Mrs. Davis Price, Mrs. Sim Long and Mrs. Luther Long, all of this county. The funeral was conducted from the residence of her son at 3 o'clock this afternoon, by the Rev. P. D. Risinger, and the interment followed in the family burying ground.
