Betty J. Groh, age 79, of New Holstein, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein, WI.
She was born August 14, 1933 to the late Lester Mathes Sr. & Selma Jochimsen Mathes. She graduated from New Holstein High School. On January 16, 1954 she married Edward F. Groh Jr. at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2009.
Betty is survived by her seven children, Debra (John) Uelmen of Fond du Lac, Christ (Dawn) Groh of Mayville, Terry (Barb) Groh of Elkhart Lake, Edward "Sparky" (Catherine) Groh of Kaukauna, Scott Groh of New Holstein, Traci (Mike) Reseburg of New Holstein, and Kelly Schmitz of Adell; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Karl (Helen) Mathes of Chilton, Bonnie (Roger "Poncho") Kind of New Holstein, Dennis Mathes of New Holstein, and Candyce (Edward) Mueller of Chilton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester & Selma Mathes Sr.; her husband, Edward Groh Jr.; two sons, Mark & Steven Groh; and a brother, Lester Mathes Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. in New Holstein. Inurnment will be at St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
