Patricia Mazeau Rogers, born November 10, 1928, in New York City, passed away from pancreas cancer, on June 8, 2012 in Branford, CT. She was a life-long resident of Milford, CT.

A loving mother and wife, she was predeceased in death by her husband of 48 years, Ernest Pope Rogers.

Pat was an active member of the Milford community, serving in a number of volunteer roles. Throughout the course of her life, she was on the CT state Board of Girl Scouts, Milford Red Cross, and also served the PTA, several years as President. She also had many roles at the First Church of Christ Congregational, including Deacon, Head of stewardship, Church Secretary, and Director of Christian Education. With her friend Connie Aherns and the Deacons of First Church, she started the Emma Davis service, an arm of the church that loans equipment to the sick and disabled. This service lends over 400 pieces of hospital and long term care equipment each year. As a volunteer, she drove for the American Cancer Society, driving cancer patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments. She also taught English to Vietnamese refugees for Literacy Volunteers and was a founding member of the state chapter for the National Organization for Women (NOW) and campaigned for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in the 1970s.

She is survived by four children, John Edward Rogers, Ernest Spencer Rogers, both of Milford, CT; Mark Joseph Rogers of Jacksonville, FL; and Kay Suzanne Rogers, of Santa Barbara, CA as well as three sisters, Camille Symons, Jane Allison, both of Milford, CT and Margaret Brown, Wallingford, CT; four grandchildren (Kelly Rogers Wolf, Avery Dior Rogers, William Rogers, and Jesse Rogers) and four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emma Davis Service, First Church of Christ Congregational, 34 W. Main Street, Milford, CT, 06460. Affordable Cremations, 125 Broad St., Milford, CT is handling the arrangements. All funeral services are private.
