born Parish of Kendons/Kineton (?), near the village of Leamington, Warwick County, England
1871 Census indicates he was 3 years old, thus the 1867 date must be correct.
1881 Census - 13 years old, general servant

Joined the 6th Dragoon Guards at Canterbury, England on Sept 1 1886.
Transferred to the 16th Queen's Own Lancers (Scarlet Lancers, Hussars) July 1888
Sent to India for 4+ years in Sept 1890
Promoted to Corporal May 1891
Appointed Lance Sergeant Sep 1893
Returned home Feb 1895
Back to India November 1897 for 9 years

Sep 29 1919 - taken on strength as Special Guard at William Head, BC (Cdn Military Police Corps) - Quarantine Station
