Frieda Regina Mayr passed away at "Villa at River Parkway", in Milwaukee, on Monday, July 14, 2014.

She was born on January 10, 1920 to Arthur and Theresa (Kutz) Mayr. She attended Holy Trinity Grade School in School Hill, WI., and graduated from Kiel High School in 1938. An adventurous soul, during World War II she worked in a defense factory, was certified as a welder and welded at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Yards on submarines. She entered the Women's Army Corps and served in Iowa, Indiana, Illinois and California while assigned to a School of Nursing among various assignments, and trained and worked as dental technician. Later she also earned her pilot's license. She worked in northern Illinois until she retired to Milwaukee in 1970.

She is survived by two brothers, Adalbert (Maricé) of Walnut Creek, CA., Roger (Theresa) of School Hill, WI., sister-in-law Lucille (Frank Mayr) of Milwaukee, WI., two sisters, Cecilia (Walt) Muehlbauer of Paradise, CA., and Ann (Jerome) Kraus of Elkhart Lake WI., as well as 21 nephews and nieces and numerous grand nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Frank.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Trinity Parish, 11928 Marken Road, Kiel (School Hill), WI. on July 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM (visitation at 10:00AM).
