Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Church Wednesday morning, September, 19, 1951 at nine o'clock with Msgr. M. B. Schiltz officiating at the Requiem High Mass. He also delivered the sermon, citing many instances of Mr. Hoffmann's helpfulness during the pioneering days of St. Mary's and of his devotion to his family, home and church.
