Diana Fisher Berkowitz, 100, formerly of New Haven, devoted wife of the late Joseph C. Fisher, died on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born in New Haven on August 11, 1917, she was the daughter of Lillian (Dropkin) & Sol Rabinowitz. Beloved mother of Karen Feldman of Harrison, NY, Arthur Fisher of Guilford, CT, and Lisa Chamberlain of Stockbridge, MA. She was the sister of the late Mildred Groves, Allen Robin, & Reva Rollin. Diana is additionally survived by five grandchildren & five great grandchildren. She was also the wife for twenty-one years of Elihu Berkowitz until his death in 2009. Diana lived her long and blessed life to the fullest. She cared for her family, ran a successful business, traveled the world, and sustained lifelong friendships. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services at Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St, New Haven, TUESDAY morning at 11 o'clock with Interment Services to follow at the B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, 200 Wintergreen Ave, New Haven. Memorial contributions may be sent to Congregation Ahavath Sholom (www.ahavathsholom.com), to Congregation Sulam Yaakov (www.sulamyaakov.org), or to Hadassah of Westchester (http://www.hadassah.org/regions/westchester). Shiva will be observed at the Feldman home directly following the burial and at the Feldman and Chamberlain homes on the afternoons and evenings of Wednesday and Thursday, September 27th and 28th.
