Hugh Williams was the son of William J. Williams and Mary Ann Savage-Williams. He had two sisters, Ester and Catherine. He owned Williams Oil Company, bulk gas and oil stations in Northern Iowa.
On June 8, 1919 he married Glennie Fingerson in Dickinson, Iowa, together they had one son, Glenn F. Williams (B. 1921) who lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Hugh died in Phoenix, Arizona and is buried beside his parents in Riverview Cemetery, Spencer, Iowa.

HUGH WILLIAMS, 77, formerly of the Spencer area before moving to Mesa, Arizona, died August 26, 1975 in Phoenix. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa. Father Gerald Lynn will officiate and burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born February 14, 1898 in Spencer. He was employed at Williams Oil Company. He had lived in Phoenix for the past 20 years.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Williams of Minneapolis, Minnesota, two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Esther Atteson of Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathryn Fields.
Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
