Ernestine and Berthe were born in Louisiana, and the younger children were born in Alabama.

J Conche, born in France, was enlisted and appointed 2nd Lieutenant on June 4, 1861.

By 1870 daughter Ernestine was in New Orleans, Louisiana, employed as a dressmaker. She married Henry Bonnabel on April 2, 1892, but he died April 10, 1894. Daughter Bertha also was in New Orleans in 1870, working as a milliner. She married Francis Waldo Peirce on May 19, 1884, but he died November 29, 1889. Justine, 15, and Mathilde Conche, 13, both born in Alabama, were living with Mary and Martin Bonjuan in New Orleans in 1870. Listed in New Orleans in 1880 are Ernestine Conche, 28; Ernst Conche, 27; Cristine Conche, 24; Mathild Conche, 21. All were employed dressmaking. Their mother was born in Louisiana and their father in France.
