Alice A. Koenig, 77, longtime resident of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly at her residence early Tuesday morning, October 3, 2017 and is now at home with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Alice was born in Kewaunee on September 2, 1940, daughter of the late Wenzel and Mary (Dworak) Swagel. She attended country school and Kewaunee High School. On December 27, 1958, she married Robert B. Koenig in Kewaunee. Alice retired from the Hamilton Memorial Home in Two Rivers at the age of 72, and in prior years also worked at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc and Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot. She enjoyed gardening; attending bible study groups; loved animals; and especially loved seeing her grandkids and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Robert B. Koenig; one son & daughter-in-law, Casper and Jenny Koenig of Two Rivers; one daughter & son-in-law, Cindy and Michael Reuter of Waukesha; three grandsons: Adam (Alicia) Koenig, Matthew Koenig, Brandon (Ali) Koenig; and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Wenzel (Emily) Swagel of Kewaunee; one sister-in-law, Sharon Swagel of Luxemburg; and a brother-in-law, Harold (Christine) Koenig of DePere. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Swagel, and one sister, Gladys Swagel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Connection Church, 1455 N. Rapids Rd. Manitowoc. Pastor Chris Gilbert will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
