GLENN MURPHY
CHARLESTON — Glenn Murphy, 61, of rural Charleston died about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Charleston Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Caudill-King Funeral Home, Charleston, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Mattoon. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Wolf County, Ky., the son of James and Perlie Swango Murphy. He married Hazel Rhodes May 30, 1937, in Charleston. She survives.
Also surviving are his father, James of Charleston; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Glenna) McKinley of Mattoon, Mrs. Stewart (Lois) Davis of Glennville, W. Va.; and Mrs. Lin (Janice) Carver of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Leland of Charleston and Wendell of Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. John (Aulsa) Alexander of Mattoon, Mrs. Gene (Genevieve) McConnell of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Lula Bancroft of Clifton, N.J.; and Mrs. Harry (Ruby) Edwards of Fort White, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
