Mr. Dalton Cooper Jr., resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, October 6, 2017, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 84. He was born in Mississippi County, Arkansas on Wednesday, January 18, 1933, the son of Erie Dalton Cooper and Annie Lee (Smith) Cooper.

Dalton and Billie Jean Campbell were united in marriage on July 26, 1958. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines, fishing, and deer hunting. Mr. Cooper loved to talk and never met a stranger. He cared for his family in every way he could, and assisted anyone in need. Dalton loved to work, and he retired from Woodruff Electric Cooperative after 31 dedicated years of service. He attended Widener Baptist Church, and will be most remembered for his entirely unselfish and giving nature.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents, Erie Dalton and Annie Lee Cooper; a brother, Tommy Cooper; and three sisters, Anna Rae Mitchell, Lorine Smith, and Willie Mae Rosebud.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Billie Jean Cooper of the home; a son, Richard Cooper and wife, Jeanine, of Wynne, Arkansas; a daughter, Sandra Fryer and husband, Charlie, of Wynne, Arkansas; three brothers, Edd Cooper of Colt, Arkansas, Lloyd Cooper of Palestine, Arkansas, and Charles Wayne Cooper of Harrison, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Matthew Fryer and wife, Julia, Chrystal Dance and husband, Dan, Morgan Fryer, Jesse Cooper, Karissa Adkins and husband, Justin, River Cooper, Steven Wood and wife, Leslie, and Dennis Wood; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, Arkansas from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Mike Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Barnishaw Cemetery at Colt, Arkansas.
