Leonard Padgett, Sr. was born on December 28, 1931 in Evergreen, Alabama, to Eulis and Mattie Padgett. Leonard accepted Christ at an early age. He departed this life on December 28, 2011. Leonard served in the U.S. Marine Corps for several years. Leonard was a Cement Mason out of Local 524 for 45 years; even after retiring, he continued to work. He loved being a Cement Mason. Preceding him in death was his father, Eulis Padgett; brother, Clinton Padgett; daughter, Thissure Finkley Myles; a special grandson, Jason Leonard Harris; and a special nephew, Micheal Padgett. He leaves to mourn: his beloved wife, Geraldine Gooden Padgett; his loving mother, Mattie Mason; 10 children, Leonard Jr., Johnnie, Jill, Jacquin, Glenn (Stephanie), Victor, LaTora (Andre?), Corrie (Derrick), James and Sean; 37 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Padgett, Gloria Falland Crews (Mike), Mildred (Eugene) Johnson, Eloise (Mosel) McFarland, Luverta Wilson, all of Illinois and Shari (Donald) Benson of Barr, California; brother-in-law, Ethel Whitlock (Yourcine); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
