He was a salesman at the old Belknap Hardware, a US Army Korean War Veteran, and a member of Mary Queen of Peace (St. Helen Campus) where he was very involved with the parish ministries including organizing the CCD program. Ted was a member of Alanon as well as a volunteer with Shively Area Ministries.
He is preceded in death by his wife Roberta Coke Smith; parents, Hugh and Anna Smith; a brother, Louis Smith; sisters, Becky Smith, Huberta Canary, Rita Knopp, and Verna Mae Greenwell.
Ted is survived by a son, Mike Smith (Kelly); daughter, Donna Hulsman (Paul);a sister, Rosie Browning; grandchildren, Ben, Daniel, Leah Hulsman, Rachel Frantz (Jacob), and Ryan Smith.
The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Peace, 4005 Dixie Highway, followed by burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
