Newport: Beulah Marie Bemis, 83 , passed away peacefully Oct. 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with dementia. Beulah was born in Hartland on Feb. 22, 1934 the daughter of Alvin and Mabel A. (Braley) Bates.

She married Harold E. Bemis March 13, 1954 and they started a dairy farm in St. Albans. He predeceased her on June 29, 2009. She later went to work and retired after 25 years of service from the Edwards Company in Pittsfield.

Beulah loved going for rides, watching the Red Sox and enjoyed all the beautiful birds that flocked to her feeders.

She is survived by her children; Royce Rollins of Palmyra, Sherry and her husband Kevin Davis of Plymouth, Serena and her husband Jeffrey Goodall of Dixmont, Aaron Bemis and his wife Rhonda of Newport, 11 grandchildren; Royce Jr., Jeremy, Eric, Heather, Darci, Amber, Sapphire, Larry, Jeffrey, Brandi and Chad, 12 great grandchildren, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins, her very special Mum #2 Elizabeth Perkins and her cat Honey.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold, and her sister Virgina Hartley.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center 34 High St. Newport. Graveside services will be conducted at the Riverside Cemetery Newport.
