LEONVILLE- Funeral services will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Margie S. Angelle, age 88, the former, Margie Speyrer, who passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Opelousas General Health System.

Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. The Rev. Ken Domingue, pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Sheree Hunter.

Mrs. Angelle was a native and lifelong resident of Leonville. She was a graduate of Leonville High School. She was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0278.

Survivors include two sons, Jules Angelle and his wife, Kaye, and David Angelle, all of Leonville; two daughters, Gail Stelly and her husband, Edward, of Leonville and Amy Gaspard and her husband, Richard, of Eunice; six grandchildren, Rachael Benoit and her husband, Eric, of Church Point, Matthew Angelle of Leonville, Jared Angelle and his wife, Heather, of Houston, TX, Mike Stelly of Lafayette, Edwin Stelly and his companion, Elizabeth, and Stacey Stelly and his companion, Courtney, all of Leonville; ten great-grandchildren, Jacob Benoit, Caden Angelle, Julianne Angelle, Christian Stelly, Seth Stelly, Kayla Stelly, Ariel Stelly, Ed Stelly, Hayden Stelly and Madelyn Stelly and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Joseph A. Angelle; one son, Doria Angelle; her parents, Jules Speyrer and the former Aloysia Stelly; two brothers, Allen Speyrer and W. G. Speyrer; four sisters, Hazel Thomassee, Anna Lee Hebert, Julie Marks and infant, Julia Speyrer.

A rosary will be prayed 5:00p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Theresa Stein, Stacy Lazard, Jerry Thomassee, Cindy Weaver, Walter Speyrer, Sheila Franks, Tiffany Marcel, John Reed, Edna Speyrer and to Peggy Hebert, for their friendship and care over the years.
