Mr. Max Manry, age 82, of Vidalia, died Monday, October 16, 2017, at his home, after a brief illness. He was a native of Camilla, Georgia, and was a 1953 graduate of Mitchell County High School. He was a 1959 graduate of Auburn University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He lived on St. Simons Island and Powder Springs, and moved to Vidalia in 1971. He retired from Edwin I. Hatch Plant as a nuclear engineer after many years of service. Max was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Vidalia, served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of the Vidalia Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christie Anne Chitty Manry; and his parents, William Franklin Manry and Vernice Mills Manry.

Mr. Manry is survived by his daughter, Janet Manry Richardson and husband Tony of Fairbanks, Alaska; and one brother, Charles William Manry of Richland, Washington.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Vidalia with Reverend Denise Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow later in the Christ Church Frederica Cemetery, St Simons Island, Georgia

The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
