PALM BAY, Fla. — Thomas Allen Abresch, 71, of Palm Bay, FL, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by his family on Oct. 21, 2017.

A Celebration of Life was held August 5, 2017, where Tom was able to spend the day with his family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Thomas was born on August 28, 1946, to George and Iva (Cook) Abresch in Iowa City, IA. On Sept. 23, 1967, he was united in marriage with Ruth Berntgen.

Tom’s life was filled with the love for the Lord. His greatest joy was sharing this love for the Lord with his children and grandchildren. Tom loved to travel and tell others about Jesus. He was previously employed at Illinois Central Railroad, Dubuque Packing Company, and Kreilkamp Trucking. After Tom retired, he enjoyed volunteering at Victory Baptist Press in Milton, Florida, where he and Ruth helped print Spanish Bibles. He was a member of First Baptist of South Brevard in Melbourne, Florida. Tom was a Deacon, he worked with Reformers Unanimous, and was a founding member of Servants of the Savior Motorcycle Club.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruth Abresch; 3 daughters, Wendy (Wayne) Sherwood, of Randolph, Gina (Curt) Arndt, of Juneau, Jennifer (Richard) Bland, of Reeseville; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Leroy (Edna) Abresch, Larry (Rose) Abresch, Daniel (Pat) Abresch; step siblings, George Abresch and Jody Singleterry. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marian Abresch, Clara Kline, Judith Cady; and brothers, David Abresch and Michael Abresch.

If desired, memorials may be directed to Tom’s family and mailed to the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
