Able Seaman Tyneside Z/4756 Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve
He was a Lamp cleaner who joined the Tyneside Hood Battalion of the Royal Naval Vounteer Reserve, Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 26th October, 1915, he became part of the British Expeditionary Force on the 13th November, 1916. He suffered a gun shot wound to the left leg and was invalided home on the 16th November, 1916, returning to duty on the 15th June 1917. On the 24th March, 1918 he was reported missing prisoner of war, he died of Septicaemia in the Amersfoort General Hospital, Holland on the 5th December, 1918
