She was a graduate of SIU-Carbondale in 1946 with a bachelor"s degree in Education. She was a home economics & girls P.E. teacher in the Litchfield Community Unit School District for 48 years. She was a member of St. Timothy"s United Methodist Church in Litchfield for over 50 years, where she taught Bible Class, President of UMW, Priscilla Circle, church council, and was on the funeral dinner committee.
June was a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother. She was the Litchfield Veiled Non-Profit in 2003, member of the Litchfield Women"s Club, past board member of the Litchfield Carnegie Public Library Board, former member of A.A.U.W, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a member of the Friends of the Library. She was a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Drive, Litchfield Food Pantry, Hearts United and Breaking Bread.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, plants, Depression glass and her grandchildren. She married Ross Allen Fletcher on July 5, 1946. He died December 16, 2003.
She is survived by: 1 son John W. (Patty) Fletcher of Raymond 5 grandchildren Benjamin Fletcher of Springfield Travis (Mandy) Fletcher of Collinsville Lacy (Lerisse) Lucien of Chicago Dustin (Coletta) Fletcher of Benld Dane (Brittney) Fletcher of Litchfield 8 great-grandchildren Tommy Abner, Lincoln Fletcher, Hank Fletcher, Hattie Fletcher, Lendon & Lenee Lucien, Rowan & Crew Fletcher 1 sister Charlotte Lowe of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, Joseph A. Fletcher and Ross A. Fletcher, Jr.; 6 brothers, Harvey, Donald, Robert, Martin, James and Mike Laurie; 3 sisters, Barbara Morgan, Ella Mae Morrison and Ann Robbins.
Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield. Rev.
James Tinzmann and Rev. Dennis Hill will co-officiate.
Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Atwater.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.
