She was born on January 8, 1933 in Devers, Texas to Harry Arthur and Naoma Harris Turner. Theresa graduated from Anahuac High School in 1951 where she participated in many of the sports programs, was a cheerleader, a member of the band, choir and the Bar Nothing Gang. Also in 1951 she was the Anahuac Rep at the Neches River Festival. After graduating high school, Theresa attended Modern Beauty School in Houston. After receiving her cosmetology license, she and her sister Alice Jones began building their beauty salon. Together they operated their business, the Charm Shoppe in Anahuac. Theresa worked as a beautician for 60 years. She eventually retired from the salon in January 2014.Theresa was a loving and devoted Christian woman who was strong in her faith. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, where she was a member the Love Notes and the church choir. Theresa also taught the first and second grade Sunday School class for over 30 years.Theresa was a beautiful and talented seamstress. She loved to sew and always loved to make clothing for her daughters including their twirling uniforms, dance and prom dresses. Theresa even reupholstered her own sofa cushions. She was the ultimate homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed square dancing, teaching her girls how to twirl and flower gardening. Theresa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Theresa was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Billy Jack Weaver; her parents; and her siblings Roy Turner, Ed Turner, Vernon Turner, Velma Edmonds, Alice Jones and Jasper Turner. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, 405 Magnolia Avenue South. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
