Samuel "Sam" DiFiore was born on September 8, 1927 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, the son of Alfredo C "Alfred" DiFiore Sr (1893–1976) and Annina "Annie" (DiMatteo) DiFiore (1896–1990), and he was one of nine children.
He married August 24, 1951 in Robertson County, Tennessee as the 1st husband of Joy Delores (Potts) (DiFiore) Togia (1933–2017), and she was the daughter of Claud Napoleon Potts (1900–1974) and his wife Mary "Lucille" (Bower) Potts (1904–1977). Sam and Joy were later divorced.
A resident of Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, Sam was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and had served in the US Army. He was also a big family man and loved cooking and watching or attending anything sports related.
He was 90 years old when he passed away on November 7, 2017 at Spring Meadows Healthcare where he was known as Sam the Man.
Funeral Services were held at the Sykes Funeral Home, and burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered.
He was preceded in death by seven of his siblings, while survivors included two married sons, a married granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and a sister.
