Thomas' stone was in the Newton Cemetery, east of Logan Ill. The stone reads 15 Oct. 1849 Aged 60 Years.
He was married to an Anny. Her maiden name is not known at this time. They had four boys, Henry, John, Thomas and William W. Longfellow and three girls Sarah E., Mary and Emily Longfellow. Anny Longfellow died between 1860 and 1870. Thomas and Anny were probably born in Pennslyvania, lived in Ohio and Indiana before moving to Edgar County in Illinois sometime after 1820.
