Emma Nowak, 88 of rural Muscoda, died on Wednesday morning, November 9, 1988 at the home of her daughter in Montfort. She was born on April 19, 1900 in Castle Rock Township, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Makovec) Prochaska. She was united in Marriage to Gus Nowak Sept. 16, 1924. He died May 4, 1964. She was a member of St. John's Nepomuc Catholic Church, Castle Rock Ridge.

Emma is survived by five daughters, Bernadette (Leonard) Cummings of Whitelaw, Wis., Alberta (James) Margis of Belvidere, Ill., Rita (Lyle) Edge of Montfort, Wisc. and Pat Nowak of Milwaukee, Wisc.: four sons , James and George, both of Milwaukee, Wisc. Joe of Marion, Kan. and Tom, rural Muscoda; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Emma was prededed in death by a son Anthony on Nov. 11, 1975; two sisters, Jary (John) Kuchar and Anna (Clarence) Grimm; and five brothers, Ed, John, Albert, Frank and Joe Prochaska. Funeral Services were held at St. John's Nepomuc Catholic Church on Saturday, with father Bud Hollfelder Officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
