Ralph A. Acre, 54, of Brackenridge died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after being in the hospital for 4 weeks.

Born Dec. 21, 1950, in Harrison, he lived in Brackenridge all his life. Mr. Acre graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1968.

He worked for a few years for the post office in Oakland, Calif., and also as a crane man for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge, for a few years.

Mr. Acre was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Frain Acre of Brackenridge; 4 brothers, Richard Dale Acre of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth Wayne Acre (Linda) of Brackenridge, Edward Glenn Acre (Hilde) of Lincoln Park, N.J., and David Leroy Acre of Ansonia, Conn.; a sister, Phyllis Jean Acre of Newark, Del.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Charles Acre on March 11, 1984.

The family will receive friends in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005. Services will be Friday, May 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Barbara Ravenstahl, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
