He died 24 September 1972, and is buried in Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Iva was residing in Anderson County at the time of her death in Palestine. She was survived by a son, Robert Frank Arnold of North Little Rock, AR; one brother, Enis Ferguson of Splendora, TX; two sisters, Luna Ferguson Brumley and Maggie Vernice Ferguson, both of Palestine; and three grandchildren. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 25 August 1988.
