Dobbs Ferry - Albina (Bea) Burke passed away on November 29, 2017. She was born in Ardsley, New York on September 16, 1929. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1948. She retired from Columbia University Press in 1985. On February 23, 1957 She married John W. Burke in St. Matthews Church in Hastings on Hudson. John was the owner of Broadway stationary store in Dobbs Ferry, NY from 1963 to 1973. He passed away on May 26, 1998 in Avon Park Florida. They also lost their son John C. Burke in 1973. She is survived by her nephew Gary R. Burstell, several nieces, grand nieces, nephews, Brother in law, John A. Graves of Alaska & Sister in law, Beverly Carvalho of Mahopac. Sisters - Odette Lanzara and Mary Burstell , Brothers - Armand, Henry and Jack Carvalho (deceased) Visiting on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home 64 Ashford Ave. Dobbs Ferry, NY. Funeral services Saturday 10AM at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
