Eddie G. Anzaldua, 64, of Texas City, died Friday, March 10, 2000, in Ennis.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today and funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev. Rosendo Herrera of St. Laurence Cathedral officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery.

Mr. Anzaldua was born in Beeville and served with the Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a welder and served as deputy sheriff in Floyd, Swisher, Lubbock, and Galveston counties. In 1982, he moved to Texas City and retired in 1998 as the supervisor of maintenance for the Texas City LaMarque School District.

He married Nico Rivera in 1961 at Plainview.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Abel Anzaldua of Millbury, Ohio, and Anthony Anzaldua, Albert Anzaldua, Mayo Anzaldua, and Arnold Anzaldua, all of Texas City; his mother, Maria G. Anzaldua of Amarillo; three brothers, Eloy Anzaldua of Bacliff, Eli Anzaldua of San Antonio, and Joseph A. Anzaldua of Dallas; four sisters, Emma Villareal, Eloise Smith, Elma Olguin, all of Amarillo, and Cookie Saucedo of Canadian; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
