Hattie Howard Local Woman, Passes Friday
Mrs. Hattie Howard, 72, died of a heart attack at her home in this city March 21, at 1:00 p.m., following a week's illness. The daughter of the late Henry and Peggy Blanton Howard, she was born in Breathitt county January 12, 1886. She had lived in this city thirty-two years and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Her husband, Jake Howard, preceded her in death August 8, 1943. Surviving are three sons, George Howard, Ashland; Ashland; Harland Howard of this city; Bill Howard, West Van Lear; three daughters, Beatrice Russell, Portsmouth Ohio; Myrtle Mury, St, Clairsville; Ohio; Donna Bell Estepp, Ashland; three stepsons, Ike, Alf, Dewey Howard, Maggard; one sister, Fronia Jaxon city. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m, Sunday March 23, from the Free Enterprise Baptist Church at Henclip, with Scott Castle as officiating minister. Burial was in the family cemetery at Henclip.
