She was an avid animal lover and before Diabetes and Alzheimer's robbed her of so many of her joys, she loved to take care of her animals, cross stitch, work in the garden, visit antique stores, and work on her family history . . . but her biggest joy was the time she spent as Mamaow to her grandchildren and Great Mama to her great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Jesse W. Smith; her son, Jesse Ronnie Smith; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia "Pat" and Michael H. "Sarge" Smith; her grandchildren, Christopher M. Smith and wife, Christina, and Alanna M. Smith and husband, Tracey Case. Great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Quinn Smith and Wrynn Case.

She is also survived by her sister and brothers-in-law, Helen and Chuck Carter, John and Patsy Smith, and Ralph and Aby Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews and her special friend who loved her dearly and also called her "Mom", Jennifer Porter Moak.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Rose Hux and Compassus Hospice Ministries.
