MISHAWAKA - Gregory L. Baldoni, 68, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Gregg was born on October 5, 1949 to Louis and Elsie (Kopsea) Baldoni. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are two sisters, Pia Baldoni of Mishawaka and Rulan (Jay) Asdell of South Bend; niece, Elizabeth Asdell and nephew, Patrick (Nicole) Asdell.

Gregg graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1968. He served in the United States Army Infantry from July 1969 through July 1971. During that time he fought in the Vietnam conflict where he received several medals for his brave service.

Gregg lived in the Mishawaka area for most of his life. He also had a lake house on Long Lake in Michigan for a number of years that brought him a lot of pleasure and enjoyment. He always enjoyed “going fishing”.

Gregg had many different occupations during his career. He did construction and roofing early on. He worked at the family-run business, Louie's Tavern, alongside his father, Louie, until it was sold. He was also a long-time member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 until his retirement and worked on many projects in this area.

Gregg was a loving big brother to his sisters and a caring uncle to his niece and nephew. We will miss our gentle giant every day, he went far too soon. Rest in peace, Gregg, and happy fishing ...

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 27 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 28 at 10 a.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka where Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 360/American Legion Post 161 burial team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millers Vets, 747 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601.
