She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lemuel Cooksey; one brother, John Matthew Istvan; and two sisters, Mary Teresa McVoy, and Dorothy Lucille Istvan.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Burke, and Kathryn Ann Chick; two brothers, Paul Gerome Istvan, and James Richard Istvan; two sisters, Doris Hintze, and Edna Mae Brown; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
