Spencer resident and Oakland, Md., native Vera C. Hillis, 89, died Jan. 25 at White County Hospital after a two-year illness.
A homemaker and a member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of Ellen Harvey Duckworth.
She is survived by sons, Joe Arnold of Spain and Ivin Young of Spencer; stepson, Zeake Hillis of Kansas; stepdaughter, Villis Miller Hillis of Clarkrange; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shockley Cemetery with Billy Reed officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Spencer Chapel.
