Stella Gribble Arp, 95 of 1730 Flint Hill Road, Aragon, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her residence. She was born Oct. 20, 1909 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Hattie Moates Gribble and Ephram Otis Gribble. Mrs. Arp was a homemaker and the oldest member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. "Bob" Arp, Sr.; son, Edward Lee Arp; five brothers, Monroe Gribble, James Gribble, Garnett Gribble, Jessie L. Gribble, and Howard Gribble; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Garrison and Mrs. Hermena Kirkpatrick, and one grandson. Mrs. Arp is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, R.B. Arp, Jr., and Horace and Frances Arp, all of Aragon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Casper Nickles of Rome, Ivanell and James Nettles, and Helen and Charlie Flippin, all of Rockmart; daughter-in-laws, Ovaline Arp and Ann Arp of Aragon; sister, Mrs. Betty Baines of Aragon; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and threeg reat-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. in the Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Battles and Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Eulogy was given by Sandra Chambers, granddaughter. Internment followed in the family lot of Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Randy Arp, Robbin Arp, Revis Arp, Marty Nettles, Derrick Nettles, Trey Arp, Aaron Nickles, Lee Nickles, and Steve Wilson.
