Elsie B. Ridge
Elsie Beauregard Ridge, 93, of Lake Charles, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in her residence.
She was a native of Echo, and had lived in Shreveport for more than 50 years prior to moving to Lake Charles 15 years ago. Mrs. Ridge taught second grade at St. Theresa Catholic School in Shreveport. She was a member of the Gem and Minerals Club for many years. She was a volunteer at the Calcasieu Parish Library in the children’s section and an active member of the Cardiovascular Exercise Group at Christus-St. Patrick Hospital. Mrs. Ridge was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gretchen Ridge of Lake Charles and Kathleen Wilke of Bozeman, Mont.; two sons, David Ridge and wife, Edythe Strand, of Rochester, Minn., and Daniel Ridge and wife, Grace, of Tacoma, Wash.; four grandchildren, Dagny Denten and husband, Jon, Virginia Wilke, Dianne Wilke, and Layla Huff and husband, Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Madeline Denten and Eliza Kate Denten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert N. Ridge and a daughter, Diane Ridge.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles McMillin will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a Scripture service at 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
