* Walter Lee Sheppard, Jr., The American Genealogist,(Donald Lines Jacobus, Box 32, Westville Station, New Haven, CT), v.15:1, p. 219
Personal note from a family descendant:
"original entry in the Hampton Vital Records: "Benjamin Fifield & Mary Colcord were Joyned in marriag ye: 28: 10 mo 1670." Of course the tenth month in our present Gregorian calendar is October, but the tenth month in the Julian calendar is December. That seems to be why the date of the 1670 marriage is recorded as both October 28 and December 28." - Thanks to Skip
