Almyra V. Rehme, 95, a former resident of St. Nazianz, died on January 27, 2013 at Whitetail Estates in Manitowoc.

The funeral will be at 12:30 pm on Friday at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Patrick Nelson S.D.S. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 10:30 and until 12:15 pm.

Almyra was born on February 27,, 1917 in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Annie Zarmsdorf Christel. She graduated from St. Gregory Catholic Church High School and from Sheboygan Business College. On November 28, 1934 she married Stephen Reyme at St. Gregory Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1996.

As a girl she worked on the family farm, then with her husband, purchased a hobby farm. Almyra was a cook at the former Salvatorian Seminary. She then worked at the Leverenz Shoe Co., retiring in 1982. Almyra was a member and past president of the St. Nazianz Senior Citizens Club, charter member and president of the Wager-Eberle-Sukowaty Unit No. 477 of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Manitowoc County Commission on Aging, past project council member, member of St. Nazianz Lioness, a Red Cross driver volunteer, a Senior Citizen Statesman, a member of St. Gregory Christian Mothers and a peer counselor for the elderly.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Cathy Rehme of St. Nazianz, one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and David Jenkins of Valders, five granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law and their spouses.

A memorial fund has been set up in her name.
