Mrs. Susan Combs Eversole, member of a pioneer Perry county family, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Ella C. McGraw, at 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Eversole had been in a declining state of health for eight years. Born May 17, 1855, she had attained near 92 years of age, and until her eightienth anniversary, had been active in daily affairs of her home and the community.

Mrs. Eversole was the widow of J.C. Eversole, for years prominent in the business and political life of the community. She was the daughter of Josiah and Polly Ann Combs, early settlers in Perry county. They were among the largest land owners in this section and the head of a large family. Mrs. Eversole was a member of the Methodist church and a charter member of the Eastern Star. Until her health and general physical condition prevented she was active in both organizations.

Mrs. Eversole was the mother of five children, two of whom survive. They are John B. Eversole, attorney, of Richmond, and Mrs. Clara E. Cornett, of Lexington. Three sons, deceased, were W.C. Eversole, who was an attorney in Hazard; Chester F. Eversole, and Harry C. Eversole. There are 22 surviving grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

Funeral rites with Rev. J. Wood officiating were held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial was in the Eversole cemetery on Broadway.
