Henry Hewlett died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Golden Living Center.

Hank was born on February 20, 1928 to George and Oma Hewlett in Canning, SD. He attended school and graduated from high school at Canning. He married Robin Kayser on April 8, 1951 in Pierre, SD. Hank joined the US Army from 1951 – 1954 and served in the Korean Conflict. They lived at Ft. Ord, CA, and Bismarck, ND, before returning to Pierre in 1972.
Hank worked at Pierre Power House in the 1950s and Culligan Water Softeners from 1960 through 1973. From 1973 until 2013 Hank owned and operated Hewlett Plumbing, working with his son Vaun.
Hank was a member of the VFW and American Legion and served in several post positions. Hank enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Swishers Ballroom Dance Group. He also enjoyed playing card games and family gatherings.
Hank is survived by his sons; Vaun (Katrina) Hewlett of Pierre and Jay (Steph) Hewlett of North Mankato, MN. He enjoyed his many grandchildren; Kyle (Dawn) Hewlett of Watertown, Sherre (Lyn) Hodny of Fargo, ND, Michael Hewlett of South Carolina, Mollee (Todd) Madden of Pierre, Kaydee (Steve) Withers of Pierre, Kallee (Michael) Rydland of Sioux Falls, Kris Hewlett of Vermillion, Sarah (Leon) Ellis of Pierre and Jordon Hewlett of Mobridge. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Kyra and Brenden Hodny, Kolten, Karsten and Aubree Withers, Teagan and Jayden Madden, Landen and Alexa Faith Ryland.
Hank was preceded in death by his wife Robin, a son Mark, his brothers and sisters: Mary Thomas, Lawrence Hewlett, Ruth Baker, Ted Hewlett, Lois Mitchell and Olive Hewlett, and one great grandson, Austin Oliver Hewlett.
