Born in a farmhouse near Benedict, North Dakota, the fourth child of Samuel and Lillian (Harchenko) Scheresky, and brother of Grace, Viola, Ted, Agnes, Jim, and Carol.

Edward grew up on the farm speaking Ukrainian, the native tongue of his immigrant grandparents. He spoke Ukrainian at home and learned English when he went to grade school. Edward loved to read. He graduated from Sheyenne River Academy when he was 16. He met Margaret his wife when he was a junior at Walla Walla College. Edward married Margaret before the start of his senior year. Edward graduated with a degree in Theology. Shortly after graduation Todd was born. Edward packed up his two week old son and wife and headed to Andrews University in Berrien Springs Michigan. Edward graduated cum laude with his masters in Systematic Theology 12 months later.

After graduation Edward accepted the pastorship of the Carrington North Dakota Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church. While in Carrington Tanya, and Jay were born. 5 years after arriving in Carrington Edward moved on to the Dickinson North Dakota SDA Church. While in Dickinson Jill was born. Approximately 5 years later Edward took the pastorship of the Jamestown North Dakota SDA church. After being the pastor of Jamestown SDA church for 1 year Edward was offered the director of development position for the Dakota Adventist Academy (DAA) in the North Dakota SDA Conference. 6 years after pouring his heart and soul into the building of DAA Edward decided to take his family out West. Edward accepted the pastorship of the La Grande Oregon SDA church. 9 years after pastoring the La Grande SDA church Edward took the Trust Services position at the Idaho Conference of SDA in Boise Idaho. Edward spent 7 more years working at the Idaho Conference of SDA before retiring at the age of 69.
Edward being born and growing up on the farm loved to grow things. Everywhere Edward went a garden would surely follow. Tomatoes, onions, and carrots were the staple of every garden. After moving out west Edward added roses and apples to his repertoire. if you visited Edward's yard you would find beautiful roses sticking out of every flower bed front and back.

Edward not only being an avid gardener, also was skilled in carpentry, and electrical wiring. While in college he was a foreman for a house framing crew. On the weekends, between studies, Edward built a house for his retired parents. When his son Todd had an accident rendering him a high-level quadriplegic Edward spent many an hour crafting adaptive equipment to make Todd productive again.

Edward was an amazing man. We will celebrate his life on Friday, March 23 at the Cloverdale SDA Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
