Virginia Beach - Betty Jean Thomas Imburgia King passed away on January 12, 2018. Betty was born December 19, 1926 in Asheville, NC to DeWitt Talmadge Thomas and Frances J. Moody Thomas, she was their 4th daughter. Raised by her Father in Asheville, she graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School in 1942 at the age of 16. She then moved to Norfolk, VA to live with her mother. There she met her first Husband Joseph Jack Imburgia, Sr. who was stationed in Norfolk in the Navy. They married on March 3, 1944. She had two sons with her first husband; Joseph Jack Imburgia, Jr. and Samuel Lewis Imburgia. She was widowed on May 31, 1950. She returned to Norfolk, VA where she met her second Husband, also a Navy man, Kenneth Keith King, Sr. They married on May 13, 1951. She had two children with her second husband; Kenneth Keith King, Jr. and Jamie Darlene King.

She was predeceased by her first Husband Joseph Jack Imburgia, Sr., her Parents, her second Husband Kenneth Keith King, Sr., her Son Joseph Jack Imburgia, Jr. and her Daughter-in-Law Frances Koha King. She is survived by her Sons; Samuel Lewis Imburgia, Kenneth Keith King, Jr., her Daughter; Jamie King Kellam (Bob) and her Daughter-in-law, Susan R. Imburgia. She is also survived by her 9 Grandchildren: Joseph J. Imburgia, David S. Imburgia (Ange), Leslie J. Imburgia Mink (JR), M. Christine Imburgia Miller (Chuck), Justin M. King (Jenni), Brianna D. King, Jacquelyn R. King, 1st Lt. Lauran E. Kellam and Thomas B. Kellam (MacKenzie). She is survived by 8 Great Grandchildren: Charles, Jacob, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Lee, Eli, Eryana and Rebecca. She is also survived by her older sister Sara Belles of Norwalk, CA and her younger brother James R. Thomas (Betty) of Normandy, TN as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Being a Navy Wife for over 22 years she moved many times through out the United States. None of her four children were born in the same state. She was a housewife who enjoyed helping her family and was very proud of them all! In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations maybe made to Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital where she was living at the time of her death. Burial will be graveside at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm
