Ann Adams Jarcho Thomas died January 13, 2018 at ninety-one years of age.

She was born in Salt Lake City on January 30, 1926, the only child of Carl Gordon Adams and Celia Ellen Wardrop Adams. Her deep family roots in both New England and Utah were a lifelong source of pride to her.

She attended the Stewart School, East High School, and the University of Utah, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She worked as a medical technologist in the clinical laboratories at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Years later, she worked as a travel agent at Clawson Travel.

She met her future husband, Leonard Wallenstein Jarcho, at a skiing party at Alta in 1953. They were married on April 11, 1956 and had three sons. They had many happy years together before Leonard died in 1996. In 1999, she married John Robert Thomas. They had three happy years together before Bob died in 2002.

Ann was a member of the Junior League of Salt Lake City and the Town Club, where she enjoyed many happy years of friendship and also served as president from 1994 to 1996. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of Neighborhood House for thirty-one years, serving as president from 1990 to 1991; she helped to found their Senior Day Care Center in 1975. She served on the University of Utah Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees and the Health Sciences Council.

Ann loved travel, skiing, music, her active social life with a wide circle of friends, and most of all her family, who will miss her enthusiasm for life, thoughtful regard for others, and fighting spirit.

She is survived by her son, John, his wife, Jean Cummings, and their daughter, Abigail; and her son, Daniel, his wife, Wendy, and their daughters, Caroline and Michelle. Her third son, William, died in 1981.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 2150 South Foothill Drive. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Town Club, 1081 East South Temple Street.
