Mrs. Lynne A. Bruyn, 63, of Galesburg, Illinois died 11:14 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.
She was born September 26, 1954, in Galesburg to Charles R. and Mary Anne Straus Cameron.
Surviving is her daughter, Blair Bruyn of Galesburg, her sister, Stephanie Line of Galesburg, her stepfather, Larry McCarthy of Galesburg, her nephew, Cameron Line of Galesburg, her niece Erin (and Jeremie) Kilgore of Galesburg and two great-nephews, Elias Kilgore and Benjamin Kilgore.
Lynne graduated from Galesburg High School in 1972 and attended Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg. She was the manager of the bakery and deli department at the former Econo Foods in Galesburg until the store's closing. She was a member of First Christian Church in Galesburg where she was a member of the Diaconate. She enjoyed quilting and was an advocate for the Knox County Humane Society. She also enjoyed visiting Gordon Behrents Senior Center, Galesburg.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the First Christian Church, Galesburg. Rev. Martha Jean Fitch and Rev. Greg Fitch will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
