Bernard “Bernie” Reiner, 91, of Newtown died peacefully January 22, at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Sadie and Harry Reiner.
After serving in the US Army, Mr Reiner briefly attended college through the GI Bill before building a successful career selling wholesale jewelry throughout metropolitan New York and southern New England.
His devoted children, Susan Gillis and her husband Kurt and Michael Reiner and his wife Erica; his cherished grandchildren, Elsa Feldman and her husband Jeremy, Harrison Gillis, Leah Mayhew and her husband Benjamin, and Sarah Vogel and her husband Jason; his adored great-granddaughter; and his dear brother, Leo Reiner, survive him.
Mr Reiner’s beloved wife, Mildred Reiner, predeceased him.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 28, at noon, directly at the United Jewish Center Cemetery, 234 Gray’s Bridge Road, Brookfield.
