Lenora Garrison Antley, 76, formerly of Chesapeake, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Paul S. Garrison and Louise McAfee Garrison. Lenora was a graduate of Oscar F. Smith High School and Old Dominion University. She retired from the Virginia Beach Public School System after more than 20 years, where she taught English at First Colonial High School. She attended Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful member of the Chancel Choir. She was a member of the Beta Chi Virginia Chapter, P.E.O. International.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, William E. “Bill” Antley; children, Mark A. Antley (Tracey) and Lauren A. Wynn (Julian); granddaughters, Megan Ann Antley and Rebecca Mae Antley; a cousin, whom Lenora loved as a sister, Suzanne Dennis, as well as other extended family.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, Chesapeake. A reception will follow the service at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. The interment will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to P.E.O. Foundation, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312 or to the Music Ministry of Great Bridge Presbyterian, 333 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
