The Decatur County Chronicle, Dec. 19, 2006:Gladys Austin, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at her home. She was a retired restaurant owner in the Scotts Hill area. Services were held at 2 P.M. on Dec. 14, 2006 at Pafford-Scotts Hill Funeral Home. Interment at Scotts Hill Methodist Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Austin, and two daughters, Ruthie Reeves and Imogene Austin. She is survived by her grandchildren, Wession Reeves of Scotts Hill, Ronnie "Doyle" Campbell of Panama City Beach, FL and her great-grandchild, Kailey Reeves of Scotts Hill.
Musical selection for her funeral was "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be", "Peace in the Valley", and "Serenaded By Angels".
Casket bearers were; Jeff Parrish, Paul Parrish, Dennie Smith, Tommy Hardin, Greg Volner, and Billy Hardin.
