Obituary for Ronald Gene Beard

Ronald G. Beard, 72 of Lexington passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Austin, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the Salty Cemetery under the direction of Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Geary McManus officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mr. Beard was born February 23, 1945 in Lee County to Lonnie Beard and Rosa Lee (Moses) Beard. Mr Beard was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Blinn Junior College. He was a master plumber and a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, W. Lee Beard, Robert G. Beard, David L. Beard, Franklin D. Beard and Bill A. Beard, Sr.; and his sisters, Hazel Collins, Lonzora Jackson and Tessie M. Keng.

He is survived by his sons, Rodney Beard of Lexington, Travis Beard of Lexington and Clayton Rollins of Channelview; his daughter, Jenifer LeCompte and husband Bryan of Baytown; and 10 grandchildren.
